*OUR DAILY WISDOM- 14TH FEBRUARY 2024*
Title: *Embracing God's Love on Valentine's Day.*
Greetings Beloved,
Join us as we thank the Almighty for this beautiful day.
What is Today's date please? 14th February right?
For many of us, who attended high schools in our respective countries, especially those of us who attended boarding schools, we started learning about this day watching or participating in some of the activities that took place. Some students and many youth around the world will tell you that Valentine Day is a big day. Fast forward when we entered the world, we also noticed that it's a big deal for many in the secular world, with different people in different countries and places giving it various names i.e Chocolate Day, Vals Day, Lovers Rock, Lovers Boom etc especially by those businesses who appear to benefit a lot from it.
In all sincerity, love ❤️ is a not a BAD thing especially for married people. As Christians our responses and participating on this day is supposed to take different turn whether married or not.
*But HOW DO WE DO THAT?*
In the midst of red roses and heart-shaped chocolates, let us reflect on a love that surpasses all understanding—the divine love of God. Valentine's Day, often associated with romantic love, provides a beautiful opportunity for Christians to celebrate the greatest love story ever told—God's love for us through Jesus Christ.
Scripture reminds us in 1 John 4:7-8 (NIV): "Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love." As we exchange tokens of affection today, let us remember that God's love is the foundation of all true love.
Reflecting on the life of Jesus, we find the ultimate demonstration of God's love. John 3:16 (NIV) declares, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." This sacrificial act demonstrates the depth of God's love for each one of us.
As Christians, we are called to imitate Christ's love in our relationships. Ephesians 5:1-2 (NIV) encourages us to "be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."
*PRAYER ADVANTAGE*
