Title: Finding Comfort in Grief: A Christian Devotion on Bereavement..

Nobody gets excited at the passing of someone close to him/her. Except the hopelessly sick and super aging family or friends, who sometimes plead for death to lay its icy hands on them, we all pray to God for constant protection from untimely death of us or our family or close friends and acquaintances.

"Hello Minister,  this is prophet James calling from country X, Europe. Bad news oooo, Cynthia called me at work and was crying. When she calmed down a little bit, she told me of the bad news that Nana John has passed......for few seconds, we were both speechless..."

For last and this month, I have experienced death near me via the death of my best senior at High School in Ghana, Snr. Kofi Inkoom who became a devout Christian in Georgia, USA before his death; then an acquaintance at church here in Nevada also passed last week. Lastly is my own brother who used to live in Italy but now lives in Ghana 🇬🇭.

It's not easy to experience back to back demise of loved ones. On behalf of the respective families, we want to say thanks to all of you who have sent words of sympathy. May God comfort us and also bless you for your support.

In moments of deep sorrow and loss, we turn to the comforting words of Scripture to find solace and strength. As we navigate the painful journey of bereavement for a beloved family member, let us draw near to God and cling to His promises.

Scriptural Verse: Psalm 34:18 (NIV)

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

In times of grief, it's reassuring to know that God is not distant but intimately involved in our pain. Take refuge in the assurance that He understands the depths of our sorrows and is ready to bring comfort.

 *PRAYER ADVANTAGE*

Wisdom Prayer Bullets:

1.Gracious Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, seeking Your presence in the midst of our grief. May Your comforting Spirit envelop us as we mourn the loss of our dear family member.

2. Lord, help us to find strength in Your Word. May Psalm 23 remind us that even in the valley of the shadow of death, You are our Shepherd, guiding and comforting us.

3.Heavenly Father, grant us the grace to cast our burdens upon You. In this time of mourning, may we experience the peace that surpasses all understanding, knowing that our loved one is now in Your eternal embrace.

4.Jesus, You wept at the tomb of Lazarus, showing us the depth of Your compassion. Comfort us as we grieve and help us to trust in the resurrection hope that one day we will be reunited in Your glorious presence.

5.Holy Spirit, be our Counselor and bring to mind the precious memories of our loved ones. May these memories bring both tears and smiles, a testament to the love we shared.

Concluding Wisdom.

As we journey through the pain of loss, let us lean on God's unfailing love and trust that He will carry us through the darkest moments. May the light of His Word guide us, and His peace sustain us as we navigate the path of bereavement. Amen.
